Here is Senator Kim's description of the pepper-spraying incident. Again.
My heart broke to see Americans fighting Americans in our streets yesterday. As I saw ICE agents tackling civilians and firing pepper balls into the crowd, I was overwhelmed by how broken we’ve become. We cannot normalize this violence. Here’s what happened at Delaney Hall: THREAD

JD Vance released a new book about his conversion to Catholicism. Here is the irony the book cannot escape. Vance wrote a memoir to prove his faith is real, central, and hard-won, and those charged with guarding that faith keep telling him, first gently and then plainly, that he has missed its opening demand. The Gospel does not rank the stranger last. The Church Vance joined exists, in no small part, to insist otherwise — at the border, in the holding cell, in the letter a dying pope wrote about how love is ordered. He called the book “Communion.” Communion is also what a Catholic enters when he hands his private judgment over to the body of Christ instead of lecturing that body on where it has gone soft. Vance gave 304 pages to finding his way back to faith. The harder road — the one his book keeps approaching and never walks — ends in obedience to a Church that has already told him, through two popes in a single year, where love begins. substack.com/home/post/p-202…

Meanwhile, in New York... People with big hammers see nails everywhere. 😢
In the US, police shot a dog after a false call In New York, a woman was celebrating the New York Knicks’ victory and dancing with her dog, which was wearing the team’s sports outfit. A neighbor thought she needed help and called the police. When officers arrived, the dog suddenly ran out toward them. The police got scared and opened fire, killing the animal. The family claims the dog was gentle and had never shown any aggression. They are now preparing to file a lawsuit against the police. Now, in the hallway where neighbors witnessed Jameson’s death, a memorial is growing. The neighbor who called the police told KABC that he feels guilty about making the 911 call, but genuinely believed his neighbor was in danger.

Conveniently omitting to mention North Korean troops and Russia’s deceitful and exploitative recruitment practices across Africa, Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia is fighting ‘alone’ against ‘the entirety of the West’.

He's a good frontman for the people who are really in power. And their ambition is killing him right in front of us. It's horrible.
The ballroom is a fiasco. The reflecting pool is a fiasco. The inflation is a fiasco. The federal deficit is a fiasco. The Iran war is a fiasco. So please remind me again what makes Trump such a “winner”?

trump spent $14 million to screw up the reflecting pool. He is giving Iran $300 billion to rebuild after spending $50 billion to destroy it. Why should you give trump $300 million for his ballroom when given his track record you might have to pay $1 billion to fix it when he screws that up too??

#Ukraine Call it by its true name -- an axis of evil -- and stop it.
The Ukrainians are up against an axis of Russia, China, North Korea, Iran ... What is the Free World going to do about it?

No agreement, no ceasefire and no peace deal will change the nature of these terrorists. Violence and repression remain the language of the IRGC. The only solution is to remove it from this world.
They might try the old "they were drug smugglers" line. It has thus far been used successfully by the US, I am ashamed to say, to take more than 200 lives off foreign coasts.
This is what the yacht threatened by a Russian frigate in the English Channel looks like The vessel belongs to British pensioners. Once again, the Russians have embarrassed themselves on the world stage. An aggressive warship can only threaten a tiny civilian yacht. In the Black Sea, this Russian “bucket” would not be so bold.

I told CNN’s Audie Cornish that the most important part of JD Vance’s book about his conversion to Catholicism was what wasn’t in it. In his first week in office, Vance accused Catholic bishops of profiting from migrant resettlement and lectured clergy on the teachings of St. Augustine. It led Pope Francis to rebuke him in a letter to American bishops — a letter ghostwritten by Robert Prevost, the future Pope Leo XIV. The Church loves its converts. But a convert who walks in lecturing everyone on how they’re doing it wrong — and gets rebuked by two popes in a single year — is pushing his luck.
