Did you know? While Alaska is home to over 30 native species of trees, only six of them are commonly found in the Interior Alaskan forests: white spruce, black spruce, quaking aspen, balsam poplar, larch (tamarack) and paper birch.

Our @BLMNational fallen firefighters are #NeverForgotten! On October 18, 2022, @BLMIdaho Falls District fire employee, Spence Cowley passed away while working on a fuels project. The wildland fire community continues to mourn the loss of a phenomenal firefighter.
