Good piece by @MehranHaghirian and @LudovicaCastel5 offering technical recommendations on the protection of civilian nuclear infrastructure after the US-Israeli war on Iran exposed how the norms of warfare are being transformed and conventions ignored. stimson.org/2026/bushehr-bar…

I have fought the neocons and warmongers in Washington for more than 25 years. Throughout, they have tried to silence, discredit, slander, and cancel me. Only recently, however, have they tried to deport me. At least, that appears to have been the aim of a hit piece in Bari Weiss’s The Free Press, which claimed that Marco Rubio’s State Department was “investigating” me for allegedly seeking to “undermine the U.S.”—presumably because of my opposition to war with Iran. Yet just hours later, the State Department issued a statement to reporters clarifying that “the State Department has no plans to revoke the green card of Mr. Parsi at this time.” Nor did it provide any confirmation for the central premise of the Free Press story—that an investigation of me existed in the first place. So here’s what I think happened. Read the full piece on my Substack: tritaparsi.substack.com/p/so…

🇬🇧🇺🇸🇵🇸 The Gaza peace plan is basically Blair's Here is the part most people missed. The body Trump set up to run postwar Gaza, the so-called Board of Peace, started life as a blueprint Tony Blair drew up himself, and now he is quietly working his way into running more of it. It almost didn't go his way. Arab governments didn't want him near the top job because of his role pushing the 2003 Iraq War, so that seat went to a Bulgarian diplomat, Nickolay Mladenov, instead. Blair just took the long way round. These days he is steering aid into Gaza and leaning on the Palestinian Authority, the body that runs bits of the West Bank, to clean itself up enough to maybe govern Gaza one day. And here is the bit that raises an eyebrow. His own private think tank has been training the Palestinian technocrats who are supposed to replace Hamas, a group that has been stuck in Cairo for months while the whole plan stalls. Blair, to that committee: "We want you to succeed because this is the test of our credibility before the world" Funny how the man too toxic for the front door ended up holding more of the keys than the guy they actually gave the title to. Amazing if four months of war comes to an end with J.D. Vance getting an email "Please DocuSign these documents: IranUSA_MOU_Final_FINAL_ActuallyFinal_V43"
Pakistani officials saying that the Iran-US agreement MOU will be signed electrically tomorrow. Araghchi implied this was the case in a lengthy interview for Iran state TV yesterday. This suggests that there will be no in-person component (though it's possible something comes after the signing). Technical discussions will commence shortly thereafter.

“They will continue to attack me, my colleagues, and others who challenge their thirst for war. And who knows, they may even succeed in deporting me. But good luck deporting an idea whose time has come. The era of endless war is ending, and no amount of censorship, cancellation, or political intimidation will stop the growing demand for a foreign policy rooted in restraint, diplomacy, and common sense.”
Friends, many of you have contacted me about the FreePress "story" and that I am set to be deported. I haven't had a chance to write, but will do so shortly on my Substack to explain what happened. Thank you all for all the support you have shown! tritaparsi.substack.com/

This isn’t some post-apocalyptic movie scene. This is what Israel is doing to Tyre in South Lebanon. One of humanity’s oldest cities is being wiped off the map. And US tax dollars are paying for it.

💢 Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that under a final U.S.-Iran agreement, services provided in the Strait of Hormuz “will no longer be free of charge,” adding that the future administration of the strategic waterway “will never be the same as in the past.” Araghchi said international law does not permit the collection of transit tolls, but that charging for services is legal and that a final agreement will formally establish a new framework governing the strait. He said the deal would clarify Iran’s role in administering Hormuz and require payment for services that were previously provided free of charge. He added that there may different arrangements for traffic through Hormuz during the initial 60 days while a final deal with the US is negotiated. Iran would guarantee the safe passage of all commercial and civilian vessels, while military ships would be subject to separate arrangements.
