@hkumed – The University of Hong Kong has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong–Toronto-headquartered Votee AI, bridging biomedical education with frontier artificial intelligence. Votee AI built the world's first open-source Cantonese large language model, currently deployed on-premise across banking, government, global FMCG and telecommunications customers.
This strategic partnership establishes a structured pipeline for applied AI training, joint research and development, and structured internship opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students — with interns engaging not only with Votee AI but also with the broader ecosystem of its strategic partners. The initiative accelerates the translation of biomedical discoveries into digital health products, reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an international health and medical innovation hub.
