A long but worthwhile and moving read- this personal story of two family strokes 30 years apart highlights how, despite advances in treatment and rehabilitation, little has changed for those who experience stroke in the UK and why this needs to change theguardian.com/society/2025… #StrokeActionNow

Good morning #ESOC2025! Great talk from Anne Forster on behalf of the @recreate_stroke trial - this external pilot trial did not suggest benefits of an intervention to ⬇️sedentary behaviour on extended ADL at 12m but lots of important learning for rehab trials @AUASResearch

Launching today, the world’s first multisector advocacy movement dedicated to stroke - the Global Stroke Action Coalition - has issued an urgent call to action to address growing inequities in stroke. Already a leading cause of death and disability, without intervention, the global burden of stroke is projected to rise by a further 50% over the next 25 years, claiming 100 million lives and costing US$1.6 trillion each year. #StrokeActionNow Policy Report - strokeactioncoalition.org/do… @BoNorrving @jeyaraj_pandian @sheilambrasil @strokeaction_RW @MelindaRoaldsen @ESOstroke @American_Stroke @marchofdimescda @TheStrokeAssoc @svinsociety @SAHeartStroke APSO

It's a good day when the impact of stroke is recognised on the national stage. But equally recognised is the promise of new tech, rapid care, and fabulous support in ensuring stroke survivors can recover to their fullest ability.
Thank you Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer for highlighting the incredible work of the stroke community and how they are using AI technology. A big thank you to stroke survivor Deb for sharing her story and speaking to the PM.
