We're leaving this platform due to the rise in hate speech that targets women and people of color. The new ownership seems to think that is okay. We'll miss all of the voices of so many educators we've come to know & respect here. Find us on LinkedIn and Instagram going forward.

When Tim says ā€œdon’t ever underestimate teachers,ā€ we mean it. My parents were educators, and I’ve taught English and served as a school administrator. Tim and I have even shared a classroom, with a divider down the middle. This is the experience we bring to the campaign.

Tim Walz is respectfully asked about pandemic learning loss in November 2022 and angrily responds: "Do they talk about the 14,600 people who died during Covid?"

On average, in the United States, substitute teachers earn between $70 and $130 per day. (Yes, I know some districts pay more…but this is the average.) On average, the school day FOR A SUB, is 7.5 hours long. That makes their hourly rate $13.33. šŸ™„
How much does your district pay substitute teachers per day?

You can't go wrong with a social studies teacher. Excited to have @Tim_Walz on the ticket. Good to have someone who knows American history.

It is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign. I’m all in. Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school. So, let’s get this done, folks! Join us. secure.actblue.com/donate/so…

If Kamala Harris and Tim Walz WIN the election, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, a fellow Democrat, would become Minnesota’s next governor. She would be the first female governor in Minnesota and the first Native American woman to serve as governor in the country.

Mary Moss is starting her 55th year as an educator. Let me repeat that… 55 years in education. After finding that out, I had to get a picture with her and ask her why she hasn’t retired yet. Her response, ā€œBecause I still love it.ā€

This, but make it all caregivers.
Loving all of these ā€œ____ for Kamalaā€ calls. I think we need a Really Tired Parents for Kamala call. It can be after bedtime and a great excuse for not doing the dishes or cleaning up the living room. You can just put your headphones in while packing the lunchboxes.

A question for teachers/school staff: How much would you have to make annually so you don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck or work extra jobs, and have peace of mind? I’ll start: $100k to $105k. SPOILER: I’m in my 21st year and I’m not even close to that.

In light of the release of this year's @RANDCorporation Teacher survey & long-standing shortages & burnout in teaching, should we continue to expect the majority of teachers will stay in the profession for 20 years in the future? Is that realistic?

2 years ago, a couple who live in Rochester asked me to help them get approval for their granddaughter to leave Ukraine to finish her education as war broke out. On Saturday, she graduated from Century HS and is headed to the U of M. The work we do in @RPS535 truly changes lives.

As part of my son's accommodations, he submits a list of 5 people from his grade that he'd like to have in his class next year, for social comfort. They ensure he gets 2 of them as classmates. He just gave me his list. He put his teacher's name on the list. 😭 Teachers!ā¤ļø
