I love this triple-decker triplex. The US should really do a similar design catalog to help local developers build more housing.

Canada has released it's "Housing Design Catalogue" which includes 50 middle-housing designs from ADUs to six-plexes. Each design is developed by local teams to align with regional building codes, planning rules, climate zones, construction methods & materials. šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ @CMHC_ca

The elevator requirement is a good reason not to go above four stories. You can still achieve great density with four story buildings, if you go wall to wall around the entire block.

single-stair 4-6 story buildings are key to creating condominium housing (with relative privacy, potential for yard access, and dual aspect units) that middle class families will prefer to detached SFH.

This 1.35-acre parking lot in Jersey City was sold for $54 MILLION (10 times its assessed value) and will become 603 rental units. And you all wonder why I absolutely despise surface parking lots in major cities—it's just land banking and a heavily subsidized land use.

2023 Mayor heralds expansion of ULEZ saying results won't be clear for decades. 2025 he says everything is lovely backed up by the same scientists he paid to justify the expansion in the first place and tried to influence their findings at the time -bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lo…

A new study shows that London boroughs that opposed the @MayorofLondon expansion of ULEZ (ultra low emission zone) have seen the largest reductions in a harmful air pollutant because of the policy Sir Sadiq Khan touts the ULEZ success and insists policy is not 'anti-car'

Yancoal wants to expand its Moolarben coal mine and clear habitat that's home to a climate change-resilient breeding colony of endangered koalas. The NSW Minns Government must reject this destructive mine. It must prioritise koalas over coal. au.news.yahoo.com/113-hectar…

Did you know that mining companies can now buy biodiversity offsets to offset their offsets? The market-based tool intended to compensate for minings impact on nature leaves the wolf in charge of the hen house but don’t take our word for it šŸ‘€ for yourself ā¬‡ļø.

Australia should have stabilised its population over a decade ago. The Greens once supported stabilising our population at 22 million. What happened to them?

Statistics & damned… When SMH quotes 28 322 Building approvals in last 12 months - is that ā€˜buildings’ or ā€˜dwellings’? Or is a 40 storey building with 100’s apartments same as 1 granny flat approval? Really tells you nothing. What matters anyway are real building completions…
