Trump has openly declared that the goal of attacking #Iran is regime change—the same “neocon” objective he once mocked in the 2003 Iraq invasion #MiddleEastConflict

Trump’s Anger At Netanyahu And The Trap That Was Revealed Too Late open.substack.com/pub/beyond…

Why Trump's #Iran deal could be trouble for Netanyahu: #Netanyahu's political survival increasingly depends on Washington, but a U.S.-Iran agreement could undermine his leverage. If Trump prioritizes regional stability, a ceasefire, and the reopening of the Strait of #Hormuz, Netanyahu may lose his ability to shape the war's endgame. The growing gap between Trump's strategic interests and Netanyahu's political needs is becoming harder to ignore.

Can Trump Still Restrain Netanyahu? #Israel has now responded militarily to #Iran, defying Trump’s publicly stated wishes. By doing so, Israel has challenged more than Iran’s attempt to establish a new deterrence equation—it has also tested Trump’s credibility. The question now is whether either Tehran or Washington believes Trump can restrain Netanyahu. If Israel faces no consequences for openly disregarding Trump’s position, Iran may conclude that any deal with Washington is of limited value. From Tehran’s perspective, an agreement matters little if the U.S. cannot—or will not—prevent Israeli actions that risk reigniting regional war. Trump appears willing to restrain Israel to protect a deal with Iran, but not to secure one. The ball is now back in both Tehran’s and Trump’s court.

Two remarkable developments: Congress has voted to end authorization for the #IranWar‌ and reclaim its constitutional authority over war powers—the first major push in decades against endless military intervention. At the same time, reports claim U.S. intelligence officials are increasingly concerned about foreign influence and espionage targeting American decision-making. Whether these efforts succeed or not, one message is clear: Americans are demanding more oversight, more accountability, and fewer forever wars.

The Director of National #Intelligence should be chosen for expertise, not loyalty. Bill Pulte reportedly has no background in intelligence or national security, yet now oversees coordination among America's most sensitive intelligence agencies. Entrusting vast amounts of classified information to a partisan political loyalist should concern anyone who values independent institutions, professional intelligence, and the rule of law.

Le Monde: The war empowered #Iran instead of weakening it. #Trump believed military pressure could destabilize Tehran. Instead, the war consolidated power around Iran’s military and security establishment. Meanwhile, Washington has failed to force a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and reports suggest growing concern over potential Iran–Oman cooperation on transit fees and passage rights. The result? More leverage for Tehran, not less.

This man lost his mind a long time ago. It’s shameful that Republicans in Congress continue to enable him in every way.

Welker: Do you think anyone who attacks police officers on January 6th should get taxpayer money? Trump: I can tell you this, 97% of those people, you look at them, the FBI or whoever it was, you had a lot of crooked cops. They had FBI agents ushering them in. You had a bunch of dirty cops. Welker: There’s no evidence of that. Trump: Try looking at the tapes. Welker: 172 people did plead guilty to assaulting police officers. Trump: You know why they pled guilty? They were told they were going to jail for 15 years. They pled guilty because they were frightened. They went down and ushered into a building.

Senator @ChrisMurphyCT : This war has been humiliating for Trump and American power generally. And when Trump announces he is going to call Netanyahu and tell him not to retaliate, and within hours Netanyahu retaliates, the humiliation just compounds. #IranWar‌

Netanyahu does not want U.S. aid to end. He wants it rebranded as a “partnership” so American taxpayers stay locked in forever. That is not America First. That is foreign entanglement by another name. @RepThomasMassie exposes the trap.

Behind the scenes reporting claims King Charles was hesitant about hosting a full Trump state visit, but was effectively overruled amid political and diplomatic pressure to proceed.

According to #UNICEF, an average of 11 children have been killed or injured every 24 hours in Lebanon over the past week. These are not just numbers — they are children whose lives are being shattered in real time. International humanitarian law must be upheld. Protect civilians. Why is Pakistan refusing to join the Abraham Accords despite Trump's pressure? Unlike the #Gulf monarchies, #Pakistan operates in a highly competitive political environment shaped by public opinion, Islamic parties, and an active media. As a result, the political cost of normalizing relations with #Israel is extremely high for any government in Islamabad. Any alignment with the #Abraham Accords is widely viewed as a retreat from the Palestinian cause and would trigger strong resistance from religious and civil society groups. Moreover, the deep diplomatic linkage between the Palestinian and Kashmir issues in Pakistan’s foreign policy creates an additional obstacle to the demands of the Trump administration. Joining the agreement could also undermine Islamabad’s ability to balance its relations with Washington and Tehran, while risking domestic political instability at home.

What does Magyar mean to MAGA? The fall of Viktor Orbán’s government in Hungary does not mean the defeat of the #European right, but rather signals its transformation toward conservative and moderate nationalism. The rise of Péter Magyar is a clear example of this trend: a figure who, while maintaining the principles of patriotism and immigration control, has distanced himself from authoritarianism, corruption, and alignment with #Russia. European right-wing parties have adjusted their positions in response to electoral realities. The war in Ukraine in 2022 was a turning point that revealed Moscow’s aggressive nature and increased the political cost of closeness to the Kremlin. As a result, European populists, unlike in the past, now see themselves as defenders of national sovereignty within the framework of #NATO and the West. These developments have caused the European right to distance itself from some currents of the #MAGA movement in the United States. With the departure of Orbán, who was a financial backer of anti-EU think tanks, this influence infrastructure has been weakened. It is possible that the U.S. Republican Party may also move closer to the democratic model represented by Péter Magyar in the future.
