Many people not happy that these two towers blocked viewsheds from the west, including the entire street end. Though, on the positive side, housing and baywalk.
Aria Reserve and Elysee are good visuals for FAA’s height limit of 649 ft in Edgewater

Public safety is not just about reducing crime, it’s about proactively improving the infrastructure that keeps pedestrians and our families safe.  I initiated working with the County to install and improve sidewalks on the west side of Pine Tree Drive from 28th-37th Streets. Residents had raised safety concerns due to a lack of sidewalks. The installation is now complete with ADA accessibility. Whether you are walking with a stroller, heading to a friend or just enjoying a walk, our community is now safer. Thank you County Commissioner Micky Steinberg for your support!

Significant impacts to @IRideMDT bus service in north beach, and impacting routes throughout Miami Beach, including the 100.
TRAFFIC ALERT: Active police activity at 67 Street and Collins Avenue. Northbound traffic on Collins Avenue is being diverted west at 67 Street to Harding Avenue and Indian Creek Drive. Expect delays and use alternate routes.

🚨BREAKING: Late Wednesday, @PortMiami director Hydi Webb and #MiamiDade Chief Operations Officer Jimmy Morales resigned and it is apparently over the big epic fail they made by not buying the fuel depot on Fisher Island. More to come on #PoliticalCortadito

For once, a driver lane diving and not causing a crash!
What are you doing in this situation? 😳👇 | #ONLYinDADE

That ground level setback is beautiful... how narrow will the sidewalk become once the tables/chairs are out?
The Standard Residences 🔴 sidewalk in Midtown will soon be filled with al fresco dining Miamians 🌴. With a ground floor that is already completely leased, three new quality culinary destinations will call it home: Rosetta Bakery 🍞 Sushi Garage 🍣 Mannarino 🥩 (1st US location 🇮🇹) Which are you most looking forward to?

Some tough decisions on Miami Beach this budget season....
Well it *could* have been worse. Prelim value estimates out for Miami-Dade from Prop Appraiser Regalado. Countywide growth: 5.5%. County budget forecast a 7% increase.

Many of these projects, including first street, have ballooned in cost because of special interests pushing for certain design changes -- to the determinant of the wider community.

Those cities have extensive (and/or expanding) transit networks. Miami's is stagnant...
Miami is a 21st Century city. And probably our premier one Los Angeles is a mid-late 20th Century city. NYC & Chicago are early 20th Century cities Philly and Boston are ancient, albeit fashionable

This is the game-changing transit you get in Miami...
POV: Miami traffic just got a game-changing upgrade. Ramp J is now open, creating a new direct connection from eastbound S.R. 826/Palmetto Expressway to northbound I-95 — helping drivers skip local street detours and keep moving through the Golden Glades Interchange. Just in time for Miami’s match-day era. Visit: Go-GGI.com for updates #GoGGI #FDOT #WorldCup2026 #MiamiTraffic Alt Text: A fast-paced reel featuring drone footage, traffic scenes and the newly opened Ramp J connection at the Golden Glades Interchange with World Cup-inspired audio and text overlays about improved traffic flow.

Quick measure with gmaps shows the right of way is ~100 feet, about the same as Washington Avenue in South Beach. The scale, massing, and facade articulation works there, and could work here.
This is the apartment building where there used to be a Burger King with zero units of affordable housing.

This trip probably could have easily been by public transit, if we had a train....
Replying to @ONLYinDADE
getting hit by a Vespa because your Uber passenger whipped the door open mid-Fifth St is the kind of thing that happens when because the entire city is operating on 4 hours of sleep and Celsius.

No emergency shoulders. What a mess. Per FDOT data average daily volume in this segment is about 90,000 vehicles/day.
Drove the new traffic pattern on NB I-95 towards the Golden Glades yesterday. The only indication on what to do at the shift is marked on the roadway, so I can see it being missed by a lot of drivers. The signage overhead at the actual shift was moved to align with the new pattern but by then it’s too late.

Unfortunately, the underdeck park is unfunded*. A $60 million grant award from the federal government was canceled last summer.
Miami is fixing something that's been broken for 60 years. When the 395 was created, 800 columns physically severed Overtown from its neighboring communities. With the new Signature Bridge needing less than 200 columns, the underdeck will physically connect Edgewater, the A&E District, Wynwood, and Overtown to Downtown Miami and beyond. Developers like PMG are already a step ahead, building condo buildings for where the future of Miami is going.
