What a run our BCH Ambassador and sponsored rider, @deanharrisonTT, had at the 2026 TT! Despite crummy race-week weather, Deano managed to pull off two, dominating, 1st place wins in the main/premier big-bike (1000cc) classes (Superbike & @MilwaukeeTool Senior TT) and two 2nd place podiums in the smaller (600cc) Supersport class. That makes 7 TT championships and 39 TT podiums total since his TT debut in 2011.
Dean was on commanding pace to set a new lap record in the Senior TT when the race was stopped early by officials due to a Red Flag. Finnish rider, @ErnoKostamo, came off the course and got banged-up pretty good, requiring two major surgeries to his legs with further surgeries needed. Goodspeed in your recovery, Erno!
I got to sit down with BCH-Gareth at @bchbliss last month and discuss his BitcoinCash Isle of Man initiative and how the TT Rider sponsorship came together. Gareth is doing big things on the Isle of Man to push freedom money forward.
We're already making plans for future rider sponsorships and would love to get more of the BitcoinCash community involved with supporting Dean in next year's TT. I couldn't be more proud to be working with these two upstanding gentlemen on this initiative and I look forward to seeing how things progress on Mannin (the traditional Manx Gaelic name for the Isle of Man). For those who haven’t seen it yet, @bitcoincashnode posted an important but measured update yesterday.
After no contact with freetrader since May 2024, the team responsibly moved the BCHN development funding multisig (~2048 BCH) to a new 3-of-5 address with an active cosigner. This was done purely to keep the funds secure and readily available for ongoing development and infrastructure.
BCHN has continued running smoothly these past two years. Development remains fully transparent through the GitLab repo, and network-level decisions stay with the open CHIP process - exactly as it should be. Cosigners have no special power beyond helping distribute developer funding.
Freetrader’s contribution to Bitcoin Cash is foundational. He stepped up when the community needed steady, principled leadership. The tributes in the announcement say it beautifully:
“FreeTrader was very much like Satoshi. He saved Bitcoin in 2016 as Bitcoin Cash, and just like Satoshi he developed the project to the point where his successors could carry the mission forward.” — @shadowofharbringer

💡 Technical clarity from @cculianu:
Full nodes (both BTC & BCH) don’t actually verify every signature from the genesis block. They use “assume-valid” checkpoints and only validate the chain of custody from that point forward.
This makes the “you must verify from day one to be trustless” claim technically false for almost every real node.
BCH’s upcoming UTXO commitments deliver the same security guarantee with far less overhead.
Node running should stay accessible - not just for people with rack servers. #BitcoinCash
Technical Clarity
Calin Culianu's explanation of why $BCH node runners do not actually verify every transaction from block zero even on a full node: Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash node both implement a feature called assume-valid, which skips signature verification for blocks before a certain checkpoint.
What a full node actually verifies is chain of custody, not every individual signature.
He argues this makes the claim that you must verify from genesis to be truly trustless technically false for almost every node on both networks, and that UTXO commitments, which BCH is implementing, provide the same security guarantee with a fraction of the overhead.

People forgot what USDT and USDC actually is.
Tether just froze $515 million across 371 addresses in the last 30 days. Circle froze $12.6 million in the Zama privacy protocol without warning. Half a billion dollars of "crypto" that just stopped moving because a company clicked a button.
Here's how it works:
USDT and USDC are tokens on blockchains: Tron, Ethereum, BSC. But they're not backed by code. They're backed by promises. Tether and Circle hold bank accounts and treasury bills, and they mint tokens that say "we'll give you a dollar if you ask."
The problem? The smart contracts have a pause function. A blacklist function. Anyone on the list can't send or receive. No appeal. No trial. No notification sometimes.
You don't hold USDT. Tether holds it for you. You have an IOU they can cancel.
Bitcoin Cash is different. When you send $BCH, there's no company. No blacklist. No pause button. The transaction settles on-chain and that's it.
The code doesn't care who you are, where you're from, or who called the FBI.
Your keys, your coins, and that's not a metaphor, it's the actual mechanic.
Decentralization is a tired word until you watch $527 million get frozen in a month.
The question isn't whether censorship happens.
It's whether your money survives when it does.
