@FBIWFO led to a guilty plea from a man acting as a foreign agent for the People’s Republic of China.
From at least 2019 until February 2026, Thomas Weir Pauken II worked under the direction of handlers with known connections to the Chinese government. He also sold reports to a group of Chinese individuals seeking information related to technology and the U.S. Department of Justice. He received at least $100,000 in payment for his work as well as received paid trips to China. Pauken is set to be sentenced on September 1 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
