SK Hynix and the US’s Los Alamos National Laboratory won an R&D 100 award for the Ordered Key-Value Computational Storage Drive (KV-CSD) aimed at bringing petabyte-scale storage capacity that’s 7.4 times faster than traditional solid-state drives (SSDs) to supercomputers and data centers, media report, noting SK Hynix developed the KV-CSD and Los Alamos Lab implemented it in a supercomputer.
