1- AI-generated code just creates more technical debt.
2- At the end of the day, you (the developer) are responsible for the code, not the LLM that generated it. So the less code you have, the easier it is for you to own it.
3- A good engineer knows what code to write, and equally importantly, what code not to write or to delete.
(BTW, this is what we old-school software engineers have been saying for a long time, and we've been called all sorts of names for it.)

6 years ago I purchased a portable aircon from @AmazonUK they completely failed to deliver it, it then took ~1 month until they finally delivered it.
Today I had a scheduled delivery 11am to 3pm for an new one, at 2:50 they we're a good 30 minutes & 6 stops away....

Come 3:10 I get a "sorry we missed you" notification that they've failed to deliver it because the driver didn't want to leave it unattended.
Clearly they missed the window and just gave up on it. Properly insulting to get the email blaming me for their failure though.
