The Israeli army shot dead a 7-month-old Palestinian baby in the West Bank. It was in broad daylight. The father says: "I stopped as I was instructed to, and then they simply shot at the car." Israel routinely kills babies - and the West is silent.
Earlier today, during operational activity in the area of Hebron, IDF soldiers perceived a vehicle accelerating toward them. An IDF soldier responded with single shots toward the vehicle. As a result, three Palestinians were injured and evacuated for medical treatment. An initial inquiry found that those injured were uninvolved civilians. The incident is under review, and the findings will be submitted for review by the relevant authorities. The IDF expresses deep sorrow for any harm caused to uninvolved individuals.

When I see clips like this I remind myself that the Jim Crow South fell after just a decade of concerted mass mobilization and pressure from outside. But given how deep this kind of annihilatory sentiment apparently runs in Israeli society, it may take a lot more than that.
An Israeli unit's "homecoming" party featured a display of their well-documented annihilation of southern Lebanon's villages, met with cheers and laughter from crowds of soldiers, their relatives, and family members. It is a scene impossible to see anywhere but Israel.

WOW! @Theintercept reviewed more than 12000 print articles and 5000 TV segments to check for biases on Israel-Palestine. I thought it would be bad. I had no idea it was THIS bad. No wonder Gaza killed what little credibility mianstream media had. In NYT, Israel's right to defend itself was invoked 99 times. Only once for Palestine. On CNN and MSNBC, it was invoked 755 times for Israel. But only 8 times for Palestine. Emotive words such as slaughter and massacre were used frequently when Israelis had been killed. They were NEVER used in print when Palestinians were killed. In Ukraine, 262 children were killed in the war, and it was mentioned 4223 times. In Palestine, more than 10,000 children were killed, but it was mentioned only 3632. The full article is in the subtweet. It's a MUST READ:

🇲🇽🌊 Mexico reverses Salinas-era water privatization — redistributes concessions to indigenous farmers. "Those who had hoarded all the water — today, we're taking it from them and we can redistribute it," Sheinbaum said. Under the new Water Law, unused concessions return to the state. Private water sales banned. Decades of hoarding by a few ended and redistribution to campesinos are underway.

At least 3,000 Palestinians have disappeared since October 2023. There’s evidence that 800 of them were last seen in Israeli custody. The lack of outrage again underlines the basic point: Palestinian life is treated as having no worth at all.
Replying to @_BvdM
Aisha and Huda are just two of at least 3,000 Palestinians who have gone missing since the war began. @HaMokedRights has evidence in 800 cases that these people were last seen in Israeli custody.

Imagine these were two blindfolded Israeli women. Imagine Hamas militants had taken this picture. Imagine those women had then disappeared. Imagine the deafening outrage and denunciations of Hamas’ evil. So where is the deafening outrage here?
In May 2024, @IDF Sgt. Dolev Mor Yossef posted this photo on his Instagram - posing with two blindfolded Palestinian women. The two women have not been seen since.

🇨🇴🇦🇷 Gustavo Petro asks the question the West does not want answered. "If Argentina is an exporter of quality meat, why can't Argentinians eat quality meat and are stuck eating donkey meat?" That is not just a question about Argentina. That is a question about the entire Global South. Countries rich in resources. Oil. Gold. Lithium. Cocoa. Coffee. Beef. Yet their own people cannot afford what they produce. Argentina exports premium beef to Europe and China. Argentinians eat donkey meat. Nigeria exports oil. Nigerians queue for hours for subsidized fuel. DRC exports cobalt. Congolese miners live on less than $2 a day. Ghana exports cocoa. Ghanaian children have never tasted quality chocolate. The system is designed to extract, not to feed. Produce for the West. Starve at home. Petro is right. This cannot happen in Colombia. And it should not happen anywhere in Africa or the Global South. The question is not why Argentinians eat donkey meat. The question is who profits from that arrangement. It's time to change the answer.
