Don't let anyone tell you, AI has no value as a "golf coach". I talk to my ChatGPT golf consultant, most every day. Scoring, equipment, launch monitor data, strategy. 74 from the Blues ... one over my age.

IMO, on a busy golf course, "playing through" is a huge problem. It slows down the entire course. 4-4:10 is the proscribed time most everywhere. If you can't play in 4:10, you're playing the wrong sport. I tell people, "no I don't want to play through", pick up your pace.
#1 Glad you’re golfing! Welcome! # 2 All anyone cares about is that you’re conscientious about it! If you’re not playing well and it’s a little slow, pick up if you have to. Let people through. It’s the lack of attention that drives people mad. #3 Glad you’re golfing!

Not exactly. Nicklaus played a Geo Low Wizard 600. Arnold Palmer played a Wilson "Designed By" ("Bandit"). Crenshaw played an 8802, which was a re-named "Designed By" (after Palmer left Wilson). They were all knock offs of the original MacGregor Tommy Armour Iron Master putter @JRL1Golf
It really shows you how great Crenshaw was with one. And Palmer, too!! Nicklaus played a knockoff one for many years from McGregor!

Everyone on here has probably seen this photo, from the 8th Hole at the Woodlands golf course in The Villages, FL. The guy changed the sign, now he thinking like the milk companies and looking for missing golfers. #onlyinthevillages.

Only in The Villages, would @SeeMorePutters be suggesting that Adam Scott, Lucas Glover, Will Zalatoris & Bernhard Langer, are using their putters. I suspect @labgolfputters & @odysseygolf wants to have a word with them. #onlyinthevillages

I'm not sure why so many golfers doubt this advice. Every putt is a distance putt.
IMO there’s only 1 non-negotiable in putting; Delivering the appropriate speed of putter head to ball. There are many other important factors such as green reading, aim, face control. But all of them CAN be compensated for. I recommend doing them well, but if you don’t you still have a chance. Eg under-read a putt but aim higher. Or aim right and pull a putt. The reality is this is how most golfers putt. When we drain a 20 footer the compensations typically worked out well. But, to hole that 20 footer you did need to have good speed. You simply cannot deliver the wrong speed consistently from putter head to ball. Too much = ball flies past / you shrink effective hole size. Too little = come up short. Both scenarios mean you won’t hole much and you risk a lot of 3 putting 😭 By far, and it’s not close, the biggest problem I see is; over-accelerating the putter head through impact. Stop panicking about deceleration. It’s almost a non-issue and is actually making your over-acceleration worse. The clue of over-acceleration is a long follow through. See left video below. You also don’t really see tour pros with long follow throughs. For good reason. The fix is NOT to shorten your follow through. That is just a by-product of the acceleration. The root cause is the BACKSTROKE. It’s either too slow or too short or both! Practice without targets at first. Take longer / faster backstrokes. Learn to “coast” the putter head through impact. Stop “hitting” putts and start “stroking” them. Your backstroke should “load” the putter head. Something Tiger has said he likes to feel going back. Remember I said delivering good putter head speed is the only non-negotiable in putting? If you agree on its importance then hopefully you agree it deserves your attention. It’s much harder to build great feel over time for something that’s rapidly increasing in speed compared to something that’s cruising nice and smoothly. Trust me this probably affects you more than you realise. Most golfers have gotten so used to over-accelerating it’s normal to them. If you struggle with distance control at all, this is the area to look at. A “before and after” video below of over-acceleration vs coasting. Any questions please ask.

I'm not saying @acaseofthegolf1 has gone big time, but I got an email saying my subscription CC expires soon. I went to his site to update and his site automatically linked up to my Ryder Cup at Adare Manor acct and I just had to click "ok". It's a damn high tech world in Alpena these days. If you don't subscribe, do it now.

This really a great analogy.
Best analogy I have ever heard about Tournament Golf. why tournament handicap is very different from weekend local club handicap Play tournaments, it will make you better. Support your local and state Am Associations!
