Anyone with an iota of understanding of foreign policy would recognize how insane this comparison is, given that Turkey has one of NATO’s largest standing militaries and a robust domestic defense industry spanning drones, air defense, and naval assets. Framing this through a 1967 lens is not serious analysis and I’m sure deep down Rubin knows that. But this “analysis” is meant to serve a purpose, which is to normalize preemptive war rhetoric against Turkey so that any Isreali escalation (if it were to ever come to that) is framed as a logical next step rather than a manufactured one.
