The Justice Centre announces that lawyers have sent a legal letter to the Government of British Columbia (Province) calling for the immediate rescission of planned public closures at Joffre Lakes Park, arguing the closures are excessive, discriminatory, and inconsistent with both provincial law and Charter protections. Earlier this year, the Province announced that temporary closures at the park would continue in order to reserve access during specified periods for members of the Lil’wat Nation and N’Quatqua to conduct cultural activities. Stopping kids from using social media isn't new, you could have done it all along, yourself. The government is not your nanny just because you're too lazy or scared to parent. A large tree trunk has been uncovered beneath a glacier in the Alps, dated to around 6,000 years ago. The species is Swiss stone pine. Today, trees of that type cannot grow at that altitude because it is far too cold. 6,000 years ago aligns with the Holocene climate optimum, a time when temperatures were far higher than now, even with far less atmospheric CO2.
