North Star: become the open coordination layer for reasoning progress on
@bittensor by:
(a) steady frontier model upgrades that generalize beyond benchmarks,
(b) growing usagevia
@chutes_ai , and
(c) competitive α price
→ sustained emission share under dTAO. Mechanically, Affine pays miners to improve reasoning models, validators score across multiple RL environments, and the public uses the current winner via Chutes. Lock this flywheel, and α demand and emissions reinforce each other.
Phase I — Mechanism Hardening & Trust (0–12 months)
· Benchmark realism: expand beyond toy tasks to multi‑step code, SAT‑style puzzles, abduction/deduction and tool‑use—plus hold‑out, adversarial and OOD (out‑of‑distribution) splits. Publish a “Generalization Gap” metric next to the leaderboard.
· Anti‑gaming & sybil resistance:rotate unseen tests, use per‑submission sandboxing and copy‑detection, and require runnable proofs (tests that execute). Keep the Pareto‑frontierscoring but add ensemble penalties to avoid trivial model merges.
· Serving stability: formal SLOs (latency, availability) for the Chutes endpoint that serves Affine’s winner; document the auth path (wallet/hotkey) and minimize friction for miners to deploy to SN64.
· Transparency: a monthly “Mechanism Health” report: number of unique miners submitting, winner turnover, average improvement deltas, serving usage, and emissions captured. Link to

Phase II — Distribution & Real Users (12–24 months)
· “Affine Reasoning API” on Chutes:package the live winner as a product with docs, SDKs, rate‑limits, and SLAs. Offer usage‑based pricing in TAO with optional enterprise invoicing. Chutes already provides the serverless inference substrate.
· Reference apps: ship two production‑quality demos where reasoning matters (e.g., code‑assistant for unit‑test synthesis; structured problem solver for SAT/logic). The aim is not vanity traffic; it’s proof of business utility.
Phase III — Ecosystem Integration(24–36 months)
· Composable primitive: make the Affine winner easy to call from other subnets and dApps; publish a minimal “/reason” schema and quotas for cross‑subnet callers. Chutes is the natural distribution layer here.
· Evaluation‑as‑a‑Service (EaaS):validators expose their evaluation harness as an API so other subnets can score their models against Affine’s battery of tests.
Phase IV — Economic Durability(36–60 months)
· Revenue diversification:inference API, EaaS, enterprise SLAs, validator‑as‑a‑service (run validators for enterprises who stake α), and curated data/benchmark packs (open weights, commercial terms). Keep α aligned to real usage rather than reflexive token loops.
Governance & treasury: codify how the owner’s 18% emissions are reinvested (grants, audits, liquidity), publish treasury policy, and run an independent validator council. Under dTAO, α price ↔ emission share is the loop—treat governance as market infrastructure.
