On National Medal of Honor Day, we pause to honor the extraordinary courage and warrior spirit of the recipients of our nation's highest military valor award.
The Medal of Honor was first authorized in 1861, and since that time, only a small number of service members have received this recognition. More than 125 members of the National Guard received this peak distinction.
Let us, on this day, and every day, recommit ourselves to the high standard set by these extraordinary individuals and honor their memory through our National Guard service.

ICE agents pointed their weapons at a Minnesota police officer who’s an American citizen. She tried to film the encounter and they knocked her phone out of her hand.
