I had a meaningful exchange with Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture @IICAnews, when he visited the Secretariat 🇬🇾 on Tuesday 9 June. We discussed CARICOM's ongoing efforts to reduce the Region's food import bill, and the role for enhanced cooperation, youth-focused programmes, and improved transportation links in achieving sustainable food production.

🤝 On Thursday, 4 June, the CARICOM Secretariat welcomed a delegation from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Senior Command and Staff Course Number 20 (SCSC #20). 🛡️ The visit featured a special knowledge-sharing session with officials from the Secretariat’s Crime and Security Programme. @CImpacs, with support from the U.S. Government, is strengthening regional defences at this week’s Firearms Trafficking Workshop in 🇹🇹. In partnership with @ATFHQ, @HSI_HQ & @CBP, regional law enforcement is enhancing strategies to combat gun trafficking and organised crime.
