One of my favorite things to ask kids is "Are you stuck? Or are you thinking?"
I do this because it gives them agency in whether or not I support them. Sometimes, kids just need extra time to think--and if we intervene too soon, we diminish their agency.

Here's a management/engagement strategy to try. As students finish a task have them change their background to match yours. Once everyone's background is the same you know Ss are ready for the next task. Thanks to @CBjlanderson's fabulous mathematicians for a great lesson!

What to do when you realize Ss are at all diff levels of understanding after a quiz? @Classkick to the rescue! Each colored background reviews a concept or extension from the quiz and I used the sticker wand to quickly assign slides to Ss based on their specific needs #d83shines
