“Circadian health” refers to the optimal function, rhythmicity and alignment of all internal circadian rhythms to each other and to the external light-dark cycle. Circadian health is important for maintaining physiological and behavioral health, including cardiovascular function.
This statement describes the role of circadian rhythms in maintaining and promoting cardiometabolic health.

To improve recovery during preseason,
we often preach to “get a good night’s sleep”. But how do you sleep better?
@fproessl & @pitt_science took a look at the literature and came up with our checklist for better💤

Using the RU_SATED framework of sleep health with self-report & actigraphy data, we found that better sleep health was associated with greater weight & fat loss over the next 6 mo in adults engaged in a weight loss intervention. Strongest factors? regularity & timing of sleep!
Our research group is expanding! Hiring a full-time research assistant (start as early as Feb '21) & add a PhD student (Fall '21 start). Our research focuses on the interrelationship between exercise & sleep--DM me for more details
