Today was the 10th Annual SSG Michael Ollis run in support of the Michael Ollis Freedom Foundation. I was honored to help with the logistics of beginning this memorial event in 2016 and glad to see it’s still running stronger than ever!
Happy #FlagDay ! What a beautiful day to celebrate the #StarsandStripes . Our flag flies as an emblem of freedom for us and for many around the world. Long may she wave. #OldGlory 🇺🇸
It was great being at the 15th Annual @MintyAwards this year with my colleague @CMFrankMorano ! This wonderful organization has been showcasing the wonderful community and performing arts scene at our local Catholic high schools for a decade and a half. We are so blessed to have such great local talent and energy here in #StatenIsland
I had a great time attending the 4th annual Philippine Independence Committee of Staten Island’s festival celebrating the independence of the Philippines and Filipino culture and community here in #StatenIsland. Thank you to the committee for another great event and to Father Ray and Sacred Heart Parish for hosting yet again!
It was 82 years ago when today that the liberation of France began with the #DDay landings in Normandy. God bless the heroes who fought for our country and our allies. These brave men hazarded all for the future of our nation and the world, and we must alway honor those who were part of this crucial moment in World War II
Very happy to announce that @NYCSanitation has agreed to extend the reimbursement for NYC bins to match the extension of the moratorium on fines - which is September 7th.
Homosexuality exists. In America.
In fact Andy, you have family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and constituents who are gay and lesbian.
It doesn’t make them less than or somehow unworthy of being an American.
What an absolutely idiotic statement to make.
At the Monday Meeting a few weeks ago I noted how telling it was that this Mayor appointed a deputy mayor for “economic justice” before he even entered office, yet nearly 6 months into this administration he has yet to appoint a head of the NYC economic development corporation. Where’s the “justice” if you are not growing the economy, creating jobs, or attracting business? cityandstateny.com/politics/…
Many of my colleagues and I were pushing for more officers for the NYPD at the Preliminary Budget hearings earlier this year, especially since our city will be hosting some major international events. Glad to see Commissioner Tisch was listening and our uniform headcount is set to increase gothamist.com/news/nypd-set-…
I had such a great time stopping by the annual Albanian picnic. These proud Staten Islanders are such a great part of the fabric of our borough, city, and country. I hope they had a wonderful day celebrating their community and culture
My office partnered with the @StatenIslandDA 's Office on today’s shred event at the @csinews . So many residents came out to get their sensitive documents shredded. Thank you to DA McMahon and his team for organizing these initiatives around the borough.
We kicked off our “Spring Sports Series” with the @TIA_Initiative . A great program that allows kids in the IDD community and their siblings to play and compete together. This offering will continue for several weeks and is a continuation of our fall series we started last year
I had a great time this morning at the Verrazzano Kiwanis First Annual Car Show in South Beach. Thank you to Verrazano Kiwanis Club for your continuous support of the Staten Island community
It was great hosting our first community concert in Dyker Beach Park last night. Thank you to Il Centro, the IS 201 band, and the MAS Swing Band for a wonderful night! Stay tuned for future events
This Charter Revision Commission is an opportunity to bring all of the key stakeholders together to find ways to make government work better for all New Yorkers. But leaving the City Council - the co-equal branch of our democracy - without a seat at the table just makes this panel a rubber stamp for the Mayor’s socialist ambitions amny.com/news/coge-mamdani-r…
@bern_hogan: "What do you think of (Trump) saying he's a lifelong Knicks fan? I think that's how the Times reported it."
Gov. Hochul: "I ask him to name the starting lineup from 1993 championship team and see how he does."
(The Knicks did not win the championship in 1993.)
I don’t know what’s more alarming - the Mayor’s brazen plan to attempt to aggressively seize private property in an effort to create socialized housing, or this administration’s naive and facile misunderstanding of market economics and perhaps intentional ignorance of the Democrat housing policies that have created the housing crisis in the first place nypost.com/2026/05/26/us-new…
