Today marks my final placement day of my trainee psychologist journey!🧠📚🏫🏞🏔
Feel blessed to have learned so much from so many amazing psychologists over the last 3 years!💖✨️
Bring on being a qualified EP!

Lovely flowers and card from my ELSAs to say thank you and goodbye! 💐🥰💖
It is definitely starting to sink in that I will no longer be a TEP from September!

We said this on 1 Jan 2024:
"A general election is on the horizon. Young people’s mental health is in a state of emergency - it’s time to address the root causes and radically improve support services. Politicians need to step up and do more for young people."
And we stand by it.
ALT Mental health must be at the top of the political agenda this year.
"Give justice and equality to all".
An inspirational poet and human being.
Speaking the truth and demonstrating integrity.
I hope many young people continue to learn about him, as I did at school, because his messages need to be heard!

As I'm not eligible to take industrial action (not Soulbury paid), I am aiming to support the action by raising awareness and showing solidarity.
I created this infographic to highlight some of the key issues in our profession currently.

Today I am on strike, this is never an easy choice to make but I believe in fighting for local services. ‘69% of local authorities are ‘not confident’ they will be able to meet the demand for EP services if there is no change in funding, training and service delivery models.’
ALT Quote from Dr Cath Lowther, General Secretary of the AEP: "We need to be accessible to any child, young person, family member or professional who needs our expertise"
I’m on strike today.
It is hard as I don’t want to let people down.
Sadly, our profession faces a recruitment and retention crisis. Workloads have risen, there is not fair access to services and the work we are expected to do is increasingly complex.

🏫 A reminder of the ways EPs positively impact children's health & wellbeing in schools - beyond Education, Health & Care Plans.
With fewer EPs in services, there simply aren't enough of these conversations to support teachers and children.

⬇️ A timely reminder of why EPs are making the difficult decision to take industrial action:
to reverse the vicious circle destroying EP services and protect them for children, young people & communities in the future.

I'm poorly with a chest infection & laryngitis after weeks of having a cold & pushing through.
Wrote a poem to reflect on the importance of rest, in the busy world we live in, with so much to do, & so many expectations around this.

Need to click on the picture to read the full poem (for anyone who may actually read this). Poetry helps me process my thoughts and feelings, so even if nobody reads it, I feel better for writing it 😊
