Proud to be among 250 attendees from nearly 40 states and D.C. attending Food is Medicine Advocacy Day 2026 on Capitol Hill. We’re spending the day educating Congress on Food is Medicine (FIM) in healthcare, including Medically Tailored Meals, Medically Tailored Groceries, Produce Prescriptions, nutrition research and nutrition education. The Advocacy Day reflects the spectrum of multi-sector enthusiasm and support for Food is Medicine - participants include patients and participants in FIM programs; physicians; registered dietitians; non-profit and for-profit providers of medically tailored meals, medically tailored groceries, and produce prescriptions; community organizations implementing FIM programs; food banks; healthcare systems; life insurers; researchers; farmers, and more, with experience in all facets of FIM. The Food is Medicine Advocacy Day was organized by Tufts Food is Medicine Institute (@tufts_fimi) at Tufts University with the following collaborators: Pennington Biomedical Research Center (@PBRCNews), American Heart Association (@American_Heart), Instacart (@Instacart), John Hancock (@johnhancockusa), National Produce Prescription Collaborative (@NPPC_USA), Appalachian Refional Health, Capital Area Food Bank, Food is Medicine Coalition and the National Association of Community Health Centers #foodismedicine #lalege #Lagov #LSU To learn more about #foodismedicine, visit: tuftsfoodismedicine.org/

Myles Garrett is just a 1/2 sack behind TJ Watt & Micheal Strahan for the record. MYLES GARRETT has been on the field for 437 pass plays, Strahan was on the field for 567 plays the year he set the record. Watt for 618 plays when he tied it. It's not even close!!

The best way to experimentally CREATE insulin resistance in healthy people is to infuse fats into the body. Its called "lipid-induced insulin resistance." Its a classic method, because it works, always. Even in my ketogenic work, I use it. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3784…
Replying to @BioLayne
100% false. Dietary fat does not cause insulin resistance. In fact, fat barely triggers insulin secretion at all. Carbs trigger insulin and cause IR. You haven't a clue what you're talking about. Isn't it time you sat down?

I check c-peptide fairly frequently to help discriminate diabetes sub-types (T1d/LADA/T2d), understand where people are in the evolution of T1D, or help predict remission from t2d prior to intensive lifestyle or bariatric surgery. Here is a study showing clearly that patients with T1D that have residual beta-cell function (be c-peptide measurements) tend to achieve better glycemic targets (higher time in range, lower time below range, better A1c) while others with less beta-cell function have a hard time doing so. Not all patients with T1D are the same. doi.org/10.1007/s00125-025-0…

On the "Fibermaxxing" and "Protein Overload" trends: Fiber is good. Protein is good. Don't worry about getting too much of either from food. My longer thoughts: countryroadsmagazine.com/art…

To be fair, in non T2DM populations, A1c is a tight range; its difficult to find correlations, even with causative factors, within tight/healthy ranges (independent of A1c). Also non-T2DMs may not primarily use CGMs for A1c support e.g., personalized response, engagement, etc
If you don't have type 2 DM, please put away your CGM. Why? There is no correlation between CGM metrics and A1c in the non-diabetic population. 1/3

BMI in the overweight category (BMI 25-30) shows the lowest mortality over the adult lifecycle, particularly as one gets older 65 . Now, if you are talking about the obesity range (BMI 30 ), OK, then Im with you.

My spicy take on BMI is that overweight is overweight. You might be a “muscular” overweight but it carries risk.

Much respect to @SatchinPanda & his exceptional research career. Still, X posts inform people's nutrition choices. It MUST be clarified that mice respond differently to keto than humans. Eg: fatty liver improves in humans on keto, while glucose tolerance, like mice, is impaired
Despite the benefits of a Ketogenic Diet in reducing body weight, over long time, it can lead to dyslipidemia, fatty liver, and glucose intolerance in mice. science.org/doi/epdf/10.1126…

This past Sunday, I had the privilege of representing Pennington Biomedical Research Center at the New Orleans Polo Club's Autumn Polo Classic, a fantastic event raising critical funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and their life-saving cancer research. As the leader of Pennington Biomedical, I'm proud to support an institution committed to research that transforms lives. Events like this remind us that whether it's childhood cancer or metabolic disease, scientific research has the power to change futures. Great to connect with David Kennelly, Peter Egan, Kenny Farrell, and Jay Saux - people who understand that meaningful impact happens when we work together toward something bigger than ourselves. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Together, we're raising hope. #StJude #CancerResearch #PenningtonBiomedical #NewOrleans
