The old boy and uncle in their hay day. 3x Inter 766's. Front 2 are articulated, rear 'follows like a puppy dog'. Luckily we still have all 3.

Anyone had dramas with rear right track (only) on Case 600 quadtrack? Deep ripping 7km/hr 1800rpm 70-90% engine load, diff lock engaged. @Case_IH @CaseIHAus wont provide a solution. Asking on behalf of a mate. At $14k each any help is appreciated.

Courtesy of @rebetzke_0 and the team at @CSIRO we now have the first commercial long coleoptile spring wheat since halberd! Well done @BreedersPlant one of the biggest advancements in Aus wheat genetics in the last few decades! This will be a revolution in many areas of Aus.

A lot of research yet to be done, but this gene would have drastically increased my profitability in the past 4 out of 5 years, by chasing summer stored moisture at depth. @theGRDC

Currently have an implement hire vacancy for one of these rippers, DM for info. Delivery and pick-up provided across WA. RT's appreciated.
Holidays are done and hire rippers are pinning their ears back. Still some vacancies in the calander available, DM for info.

It's been a great opportunity to work directly with @rebetzke_0 & @CSIRO. It has illustrated how effective and streamlined pre-breeder & farmer collab trials can be. This is something we need more of as some of their genetics deserve to be 'out of the box' farm tested. 1 of 2

Callum has faced persistent changes in rainfall patterns that drench his paddocks over summer but leave the topsoil dry by sowing time. The new rainfall pattern has made it difficult to get a decent break for the past three seasons. bit.ly/3iM1egK

I see these genetics broardly applicable across many Ag zones for varying reasons: sowing into stored summer moisture, non wetting sands, soil furrow fill from damaging winds etc. Looking forward to seeing these being commercially available ASAP.

Good opportunity for growers in the EWB to discuss soil constraints and research with the GRDC. Without grower input it makes a researchers job very hard!
The @theGRDC road-trip continues! Look out Moorine Rock Aug 3 & Kalannie Aug 4! NSWs @EhsanTavakkoli & @DavidHall_Soils pre-eminent soils gurus will join us for dinner & drinks. This is your invitation to catch up with these stars @Callum_Wesley. Rego/info growernetwork.net.au

Gauging interest: if it was possible to arrange a flight direct from NZ for seeding workers without them having to quarantine in Sydney for 2 weeks, would you want in?

Thanks to @Callum_Wesley for showing myself and @AndrewF00370433 around his deep sown chickpea paddocks and his trial with @rebetzke_0 on #DeepSowing wheat. So many interesting questions raised, and nothing makes me happier than digging up some interesting root crowns!

@CSIRO long coleoptile Mace wheat emerged from 120mm depth in summer stored moisture, whilst conventional Mace sits idle in dry soil sowed at 40mm depth. These genetics have massive potential for our profitability. Hats off to @rebetzke_0

Pic 1 Mace Rht18 @ 120mm sowing depth. Pic 2 Mace @ 40mm sowing depth. An impressive difference given the very dry and hot finish to the season.

Looking for answers. Striker chickpeas. No CP/legume history ever in pdk. No lesions, just bleaching. Spread across all of pdk, easily 10% pod damage within 1 week, starts from bottom of plant. V small amount of bleaching months ago even when wet - why I don't belive its drought.

Thanks Sue! 20 years but almost there. Good grower and breeder support there to drive commercial delivery. Personally, if there is one (three?) lessons I have learned as a scientist it is patience, importance of integrated teams and strong belief in biology in delivering impact
It's an extraordinary moment when elements converge (climate and plant physiology) and your research comes of age! Worthy of acknowledgement @rebetzke_0 and team

Managed to get one of the @CSIRO long coleoptile wheat plots up from 150mm depth. The genetics are there, the technology is there, it's time to upscale 🚜💨🌾
