OAU management has announced the return of 50 Town-Gboro buses to campus. The decision follows weeks of transport-related tensions that triggered lecture boycotts, student protests, and a three-week "mid-semester break." The Town-Gboro buses will now operate alongside the CNG buses and tricycles donated by the First Lady, creating the hybrid transport system students had demanded since the crisis began. "Upon my resumption, the editor had said I would make a good sports writer, and within the blink of an eye, I am already on my way to being one." Sometimes, all an emerging journalist needs is someone who recognises their potential before they do, and that is one of the opportunities the Next Gen Internship Programme provides. When @MusbauDauda began his internship at the Nigerian Tribune, an editor identified his talent for sports journalism and encouraged him to pursue it. Since then, he has been learning from experienced editors and expanding his knowledge of sports reporting. 📖 Read his first month diary as an intern here: campusreporter.africa/my-int… #NextGenInterns #InternDiary #CampusReporter

The session introduced participants to practical ways of identifying misinformation and disinformation, spotting coordinated online campaigns, and understanding how false information spreads quickly across platforms like WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook. Participants also took part in the "Spot the Fake" group challenge, a practical session designed to test their verification and fact-checking skills. Working in groups, participants analysed pictures, videos, and news reports to identify what was real and what was misleading.
