Thank you Senator for standing up for Canadian beef producers. We know that MPs are hearing our concerns, but as long as negotiations continue for a possible trade agreement with Mercosur, we need to continue to speak up and share our concerns. Tell your friends and neighbours and share cattle.ca/mercosur so others can add their voices and support Canadian beef producers.
Canadian beef is not a negotiating chip! I made a statement in the @SenateCA today to recognize the importance of protecting the Canadian beef sector from the ongoing trade negotiations with Mercosur. There must be thorough consideration of the effects that a Mercosur trade deal will have on ALL Canadian sectors. Watch my statement here: youtu.be/8aLPNff3DEo @CanCattle @NACattleFeeders

Earlier this week representatives from @ManitobaBeef travelled to Ottawa for meetings with Members of Parliament, Senators and Parliamentarians earlier this week. We appreciate everyone who took the time to discuss opportunities and challenges in the Canadian beef industry, including the potential trade deal with Mercosur, Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) review, sufficient business risk management supports especially Livestock Price Insurance and Advanced Payments Program, as well as regional priorities like the Lake Manitoba and Lake St. Martin Outlet Channels Project.
