A brilliant week of science, brought to us by @NASA and @esa at the gorgeous waterfront venue of the Harpa Centre here in Reykjavik. We will be bringing you even more highlights from the conference over the next week…
What a venue! What an event! #Cryo2ice is almost over, but not quite yet. Time now to summarise this incredible "family reunion" of our milk and cookies, CryoSat and ICESat-2. We're about to hear from all our chairs, before a wrap up from @tparrine & @Thorsten_Markus

In 1968, during Apollo 8, Bill Anders offered to humanity among the deepest of gifts an astronaut can give. He traveled to the threshold of the Moon and helped all of us see something else: ourselves. He embodied the lessons and the purpose of exploration. We will miss him.

Please tell me we're going to call it the #HalloweenBerg. Using the normal nomenclature (#A83) is so dull. This is the third large berg to come off the Brunt in three years. The decision of @BAS_News to move Halley base in 2016/17 looks ever smarter. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c033…

It's done. The last great chunk of #MolarBerg (aka D28a), the biggest block of ice to come of the Amery Ice Shelf in 50 years, let go big style this week. Hydrofracturing shattered the remnant berg virtually overnight. 52S; 22W on 16/5/24. #NASA #Worldview
