We so rarely know the story of the people killed at our border. He was trying to reunify with his sons in the UK, and he couldn’t do so regularly so he had to use smugglers. If we had any functional family reunion mechanisms he wouldn’t have died.

The small boat the two Syrians were in capsized on October 23, while they were still just two kilometers off the coast of Calais.
Osama survived, but his father disappeared.
