The Scotch Whisky Association has purposefully misinformed Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer in a recent letter, claiming that increasing alcohol duty led to £108 million in reduced revenue to @HMTreasury.

Alcohol trade groups claim that keeping alcohol duty in line with inflation 'unfairly penalises moderate drinkers'.
Yet a 5% uprating of duty would only cost someone drinking within the guidelines an extra £10 a year.
