Today is June 12th.
For the past few years, this has been the day our family loaded up the car and headed to Fort Walton Beach. It became more than a vacation,!it became a tradition. We wanted to give our children experiences we never had growing up.
A real family vacation. Time together. Memories that would last long after the trip was over.
This year, we arenât making that drive.
We knew months ago that we wouldnât be able to because of Kateâs condition, but knowing it and living it are two different things.
So this year, our children learn a different lesson.
Sometimes life changes the plans youâve carefully made. Sometimes love looks like sacrifice. Sometimes faith means trusting God when the road ahead isnât the one you expected.
The beach can wait. The memories weâll make as we walk through this season together cannot.
And perhaps the greatest lesson isnât that vacations are wonderful, itâs that family isnât defined by where you go, but by how you stand together when you canât.
