Our family has been keeping a secret!! @michaelsobolik and I honored and excited to announce that we’re pursuing another adoption from India. We chose to hold this news close for a little while, but the time has come to celebrate with our village — and we are SO glad to finally share it with you! We are just a couple of months away from being in the matching process (awaiting USCIS and India approval). When we adopted Dev, it was a year between matching and travel to India, but it’s been shortened to 6 months, so we’re anticipating (and hoping for) a shorter process this time around. In 2023, we welcomed our son Dev home from India through international adoption. We have been utterly amazed at how the Lord has worked in our lives over the past 6 years (we began our first adoption process in 2020). He has been faithful to us in every stage and season. He’s reminded us again and again of His great love for us — and our son. He’s given us wisdom and patience, when we were stretched beyond ourselves. He’s given us more joy than we thought possible We always tell Dev that adoption means he is loved and chosen. We remind our dear son of the story of how the Lord adopts us into his family, calls us his very own children, and invites us to call him “Father.” We will soon have the privilege of telling this story to our second dear child. They say “it takes a village” to raise a child, but for adoptive families, it often takes a village to bring them home, too. We can’t do the adoption process alone—we don’t have all the physical, mental, or emotional resources we need. Hundreds of people were involved, in some capacity, in bringing our son home, and we’re already looking forward with anticipation to how the Lord will write our family’s story for our second adoption. 🎉We are thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded a $4000 matching grant Fund administered by We Care for Orphans in Indiana and a $3000 matching grant Fund administered by @LifesongOrphans! If you’re interested in financially supporting our adoption, your gift will be doubled. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. We are eternally grateful for the people who chose to enter into our story! ♥️ Chelsea and Michael

Last week at the @TGC's Women's Conference, over 600 women gathered at our @StandTogether dessert reception, featuring one of our partners, @_careportal . The attendees heard from @AnnVoskamp on the Biblical call to love and serve our neighbors, including the most vulnerable among us—children. Her talk was deeply personal and moving. The first conversation I ever had with Ann was about vulnerable children, and I knew she'd be the perfect speaker for this event. Adrien Lewis spoke about CarePortal's technology platform, which helps neighbors see and serve their most vulnerable neighbors by connecting local churches to the real, vetted needs of children and families in crisis within their own communities. Adrien's passion for the church caring for those in their communities is palpable, and I am grateful for his work. We'd love to connect. Really grateful to the @nypost editorial board for highlighting my recent oped with @OliviaEnos. We will continue to make this argument over the summer: President Trump shouldn’t allow the Xi visit in September to proceed unless Beijing releases political prisoners.

Consider this our stake in the ground. @michaelsobolik & I argue in @dcexaminer that Xi must release several high-priority political prisoners, including Jimmy Lai, Gulshan Abbas, and Pastor Jin, as a precondition to his visit to Washington. washingtonexaminer.com/op-ed…

We need PRENDA, the Pre-Natal Non-Discrimination Act, passed by Congress now. Aborting (i.e. killing) a baby who has Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, or other serious genetic disease should be ILLEGAL.

The contrast is sickening. Less than a month ago, this man (@McJuggerNuggets) celebrated a dog who beat impossible odds and refused to give up. As a dog owner, this was likely very expensive and time extensive for him. But, this week, he announced he wouldn't give his own HUMAN child that same chance because he and his wife were told told baby had Down syndrome. Your child's worth is not determined by their IQ, health challenges, chromosome count, level of dependence, or ability to live independently. Every human life has value. A diagnosis should never become a death sentence.

Every life matters.
I’ve had a hard time focusing today. I just can’t quite put down that despicable post from the man that aborted his daughter because her test results indicated she likely had Down Syndrome. As the father of a daughter with DS, I know the statistics (I also know how the conversation goes with the Geneticist…), but to see someone publicly announce the murder of their child, and with such egocentric disdain, just has me very upset today. Lord, have mercy Christ, have mercy Lord, have mercy God in heaven, thank you for the gift of my Ellie.

On this day 37 years ago, brave Chinese students peacefully protested for freedom and democracy in Tiananmen Square. The Chinese Communist Party answered with tanks and violence, killing hundreds and wounding countless others. The CCP may censor history, but it cannot erase the truth. We remember the victims of the Tiananmen Square Massacre and stand with freedom-loving people everywhere who continue to resist tyranny and fight for liberty.

This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21. The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans with no matter what we decided. I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley. She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained. Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is caused by an extra chromosome. It is caused by an error in cell division, like a glitch. The odds of a baby having it is 1 in 1000. When I first confronted this news, I was shocked but optimistic. If they’re a little slow intellectually, then we’ll make it work. I signed on to be a parent, come what may…but I just didn’t fully understand what Down Syndrome entailed. Once we made it public, it became clear that MOST people don’t know what Down Syndrome entails (and no, it’s not the same as Autism): 50% of babies with DS have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. Impaired immune function, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, delayed physical development, poor muscle tone, structural issues with face, decreased lifespan, etc…Sadly, the list is long, feel free to look it up…Down Syndome isn’t a “blessing”, it is objectively shitty from a health perspective. I didn’t realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family…more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life. The miscarriage risk is also close to 50%, which made matters worse…they may never see the light of day and it puts Ashley further at risk. We spoke with doctors, friends, family and genetic counselors and learned that up to 90% of women terminate their pregnancy after learning the baby has Trisomy 21. This was WAY higher than I expected, I thought it would be lower given that I hear so many say they kept or would keep the baby. I believe that’s because most terminations happen privately, it feels shameful. A lot of judgment being cast. You never think you’d be in this type of situation until it happens to you and then things change. To all of my fans who have weighed in on this topic who have Autism, Down Syndrome or any other conditions…we appreciate you. You matter a lot and we’re glad you’re here. I commend you and your families for having the strength and courage to push forward. As for us, we made a difficult decision that we believe in the long-run will be beneficial for our family. Thankfully, we had a choice. It will take a little time to move on, but we are excited to try again in the future and hopefully have a better outcome. Love you guys & thank you for understanding. ❤️

On June 4, the world marks 37 years since the Chinese Communist Party ordered its troops to attack thousands of peaceful demonstrators in and around Tiananmen Square. Those who sacrificed to uphold their unalienable rights of free expression and peaceful assembly will be vindicated someday.

So many children with Down syndrome are being killed in the womb, that a few years ago, France banned a video called "Dear Future Mom" of parents with their children for fear of making those who aborted them feel bad. It reminded me of Orwell’s description of totalitarianism: “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever.” That face, as it turns out, is the face of a child with Down syndrome. The government does not protect pre-born children, and so it must instead shelter from the truth the consciences of those who have killed their own children, thereby denying them the only real solution to this ongoing horror: repentance. jonathonvanmaren.substack.co…

"Some lines from Augustine that I first read my freshman year of college have come to mind almost every time I’ve seen Sasse in the media since his diagnosis. The lines repeatedly cross my mind throughout our conversation—when Sasse tells me his scalp “itches like hell” from his chemotherapy; when he tells me how doctors described in detail how his body will shut down before he dies; when he tells me about his love for his wife and his children. But I can’t bring myself to say them to Sasse. I don’t want to tempt a dying man to respond with some self-effacing, untrue rebuttal, and I don’t want to cry in front of him. “The same fire that makes gold shine makes chaff smoke,” Augustine wrote in City of God. “ What matters is the nature of the sufferer, not the nature of the sufferings.” This piece by @McCormackJohn is well-worth you time. I continue to be amazed at how @BenSasse is redeeming his time -- what an example to us all. thedispatch.com/article/ben-…

Really disappointing announcement from @StephenCurry30 Steph has spent years building a brand around faith, family, and values, which is why his 10-year deal with @LiNing_Official is so hard to stomach. @LiNing_Official has been implicated in Uyghur slave labor in China, and the U.S. has made an official determination that how the Chinese Communist Party is systematically treating the Uyghur people is a genocide.
The partnership of a lifetime.

@LiNing_Official has been implicated in Uyghur slave labor in China. Cultural bridges and diplomacy, at the price of being complicit in the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide?
This is great work @StephenCurry30 👏 Sports is a cultural bridge and China and the USA doing partnerships is a peak diplomacy — a huge peace ☮️ dividend Let’s do more of these… music, startups, tech, science, healthcare and art.

My latest, in @WSJopinion: The quickest way for the U.S. to lose the AI race would be to sell advanced chips that Chinese companies are currently incapable of fabricating. Policymakers should starve adversaries of AI compute, not supply it.
