Scientists have been publishing climate models since ~1970.
A good way to evaluate their skill is to compare what they expected to happen in the years after the model was published to observed climate changes.
It turns out most models were pretty spot-on:

Like clockwork , as soon as you criticise the fossil fuel companies and executives β out come the lobbyists and shady thinktanks based at and near the infamous SW1 55 Tufton Street .
The Institute of Economic Affairs are just one of a network of fervently anti Net Zero , pro free market groups which lobby for the oil and gas industry in Westminster . In 2018 the IEA admitted receiving funding from BP every year since 1967 .
I did pop by with a poster last week, but no one was in . . .
