Worst of all, those with the most to lose were the most severely betrayed. Most poignantly, the Iranian people. In January, Trump posted “Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! ... HELP IS ON ITS WAY”. Some might well have sacrificed their lives in response. Yesterday, the president remarked that he “never cared about regime change”. Thanks for that. My @Telegraph column: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06…

It's amazing, in a way, that I just think nothing of this. Just: yeah. Of course.

Incredible. Scotland puts a wind turbine near Trump’s golf course in Aberdeen 20 years ago. He sues and loses. Then his resulting hatred of wind turbines now ends up with the US Secretaries of Defense & Interior fabricating absurd lies to justify killing wind energy in the US.

Burgum on wind turbines: We have a report from Hegseth that it’s a national security threat. You could launch an attack on the US in with a bunch of drones coming through a wind tower field, it would undetectable until it was came through because the radar interference

The fake version of reality conjured by X algorithms - 'British Gotham' - grows in detail and persistence. I've been shown this "Heroic Farage socks it to Andrew Bailey" image perhaps 20x in the last 24h. Each time under a new account. X has no interest in cleaning this up...

The Irish for "hello", i.e. "Dia duit" and the English word "goodbye" both mean "God be with you". Centuries of Anglo‑Irish tension, and we were just swapping blessings the whole time.

The disclosure of a Russian owned factory in Ireland providing material support during the Ukraine invasion has surprised and angered the overwhelmingly pro-Ukrainian Irish public The usual bluffers have sought to distort the reality of Irish sentiment for their agenda: The facts of Ireland and Ukraine: - Ireland has taken in over 113,000 Ukrainians since the invasion, one of the highest per capita in Europe - They have received extensive state support, including accommodation, income supports, healthcare, education and public service access - This cost over 1 billion euro in 2024 alone - Ireland has given almost half a billion in direct aid to Ukraine, in humanitarian aid, development assistance and nonlethal military support - None of the above applies to Russia - The Irish government has been vocally critical of Russia and supportive of Ukraine, officials visiting Ukraine more than once during the invasion. - The Ukrainian president visited Ireland and thanked Ireland for its ‘unwavering support’, saying “Ireland, a militarily neutral state, is not neutral morally” - Irish polls show some of the highest support for continuing to aid Ukraine, even if it results in energy shortages (VRs other EU nations)
