Keep in mind, a "bad contract" is often relative. For example, Jaylen Brown is definitely overpaid, but in certain contexts, his deal is fine. For a team like the Hawks that has a lot of guys on longterm value deals, it's very manageable. Situation & context is important.

I’m confused . Some Hawks fans don’t want Jaylen Brown . I’m saying if you can get JB you get JB. He has played in the Finals and even won Finals MVP. We don’t have Trae anymore and the playoffs showed we are missing an alpha. Y’all too stuck on getting the perfect player.

Or ever. He’s incentivized to stay in Minnesota and sign the fattest contract possible.
So the Hawks fans who want Ant: why are y'all so sure he's asking out next year?

Tbf, while I get the JB stuff, most of the fanbase seems like they can’t imagine having a star who isn’t from Atlanta. There’s actually a lotta dudes from the rest of the world that we are allowed to trade for/sign. The rest of the world is a lot bigger than ATL.

Netherlands vs team Blue Lock I want them both to win

I could argue that the least valuable thing a center can do on offense is score.

The Ant obsession has poisoned all roster building discourse These people can’t talk about anyone else There is 1 good player in the nba 😂
Settling for JB as opposed to who? Ant? Antman isn't available. No guarantees he will be until he's a free agent after 3 more seasons. He's obviously #1 on almost all of our lists but just waiting doesn't seem like a good plan. Why do I keep seeing the DJM comparison? He's not close to being as accomplished as JB. Can you explain why JB isn't a clean fit with JJ? Who is other than Ant? It's certainly no where near the terrible fit of DJM and Trae. As bad as DJM was, we still got Dyson and picks for him. I'd argue Brown gives us a better chance to trade for Ant if he becomes available. With 2 All NBA players, we'd have the option of flipping one directly to Minnesota, or flipping for assets to give to the Wolves.

Last season it was 29/7/5 on almost 58% TS
What are the hawks getting for that salary and the 8th pick?

Our top 4 are not 19 and 20 year olds. They are going into years 5, 6, 7, & 8. 3 would still be here. Why aren't they ready to take the next step towards winning now?
Of course but you gotta take into account fit, readiness, cap, etc… worst thing you can do I be one player away while trading for one player… make moves all you want… no problem there… just don’t compromise growth for temporary satisfaction if the team is not ready…

This is one of the pillars of my basketball philosophy, you can’t circumvent „traditional“ Team Building forever

not saying wing/forward creators are terrible just that teams would benefit from better lead guard play, even for those XL creators, bc to give one example it would mean fewer static top of key reps for bigger bodies not exactly designed to play like supersized Kembas all game

8th overall picks.
Do you think Aday Mara is a future multiple time DPOY and perennial All Defensive Team member? If not we Can Not draft him #8. #TrueToAtlanta

Onsi make it happen
REPORT: The Atlanta Hawks have shown interest in Cason Wallace, per sources. No intel on whether or not OKC will make him available but Atlanta will make calls regarding Wallace.

I’m going to say yes to a lot of names for varying prices because the hawks need to take this seriously If they can’t build around Jalen on a discount extension then we don’t even want to talk about when he gets his max
I don’t believe Jaylen is a top ten player. Other may believe so, I don’t think he’d make this team a championship caliber team and that’s my criteria for that sort of cap and resources commitment.

Told my chat months ago that if the Hawks didn’t get lucky in the lottery then they need to get aggressive. Onsi’s job got harder when they didn’t get a top 4 pick. Only way you run it back is if you get AJ Darryn etc.

They fired the GM that picked him for a reason
Not professionally… if I invested a number 1 pick into a guy then you damn right I want him on the court as much as humanly possible during his 1st 2-3 years in my organization… we not talking about a fringe 2nd rounder or Anthony Bennett here!!! Talent has to be cultivated…

His minutes got cut due to performance I know none of you ever played a sport in your life.
How you gonna perform when the coach cuts your minutes and cuts you out of the rotation just shutting down your development entirely… ZR wasn’t good and we know that but the kid would literally get a rebound or make a shot and if he made one mistake he’d be out the game… smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

Trust Onsi until he tries to trade your precious Ricochet
And you do? Living in lala land thinking we’re the Knicks and Celtics isn’t good for your health… lol 😂
