My thoughts are tech advancement is going to improve and first steps often feel unimpressive. But a few questions? How does it handle in muddy or varying terrain? What type of equipment and cost is associated with pulling it out if stuck? Repairability by farmer? Do you have to take to dealer or field repair costs?
China’s autonomous tractor goes viral! 🚜 China’s aging rural population and labor shortages are forcing a rethink in agriculture, and the answer may already be working the fields. The Honghu T70 is a fully electric, autonomous tractor developed in China. It’s a production-ready machine already in use across Hebei Province, with nationwide rollout planned. The T70 can autonomously complete the entire farming cycle, ploughing, seeding, spraying, and harvesting, without a driver. It collects real-time data on soil composition, moisture, and crop health, navigating with centimeter-level precision using China’s satellite system. 📡 It’s fully electric, charging via grid or renewables, making it well-suited for rural regions. If deployed at scale, small farms could be managed by a single person with a fleet of robots, helping China reduce dependence on imported Western machinery and opening export markets in Southeast Asia and Africa. With over 20% of the national workforce still in agriculture, automating rural labor could free up millions for cities and industry. ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com

Here I am killing my self to deliver ahead of my customers expectations, build a near real time quoting, automate my QMS, increase equipment/capacity/economy of moving parts to be the best because it's absolutely necessary. Then you have someone taking the scenic path to supply a part on the shelf. We really need to innovate past these people and get the lead out to move forward. Come on America let's get our shit together!🇺🇸
WHY THE HELL DOES IT TAKE A WEEK TO GET A QUOTE FOR AN OFF THE SHELF GEAR THAT THEY HAVE IN STOCK WHY THE FUCK DO I NEED TO WAIT ON A SALES GUY TO SEND IT TO ME WHY THE FUCK IS THERE ONLY ONE MANUFACTURER IN THE USA WHY THE FUCK IS THE LEAD TIME FOR NEW ONES 6 MONTHS

The DEF system is a constant issue for our company. Every one of our trucks has to have the entire system replaced due to constant issues. This is under warranty but have been delayed due to parts. This randomly will shut our trucks down into turtle mode where the trucks can't go over 35mph. The work is hard enough to then fight our equipment is to much!
The #1 issue raised to me by farmers nationwide is their concern over faulty Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) systems. The Trump EPA has already taken action to massively reverse DEF deratements, restore “Right to Repair”, collect needed data from manufacturers, and eliminate DEF sensors. Up next, we will soon release a proposal to permanently end deratements entirely as part of upcoming NOx rulemaking. Great press conference yesterday, hosted by @SecRollins at USDA HQ, focused on Trump Admin efforts to lower fertilizer costs and boost U.S. farming.

BREAKING NEWS: Eleventh scientist found dead
Community note
The scientist in the linked article died in 2022, not recently. The article includes this older case to reach an "eleventh" in a list of recent deaths/disappearances (2024-2026), which other sources count as 8-10 without it. dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ar… newsweek.com/list-dead-or-m… mensjournal.com/news/missing-n…

The temptation as a new business, is to get as much as you can through the door but remembering that not every project/customer is a fit. The wisdom of saying"No" is also a powerful tool. Stretching yourself to possibilities in the direction of your mission and staying on that path as a new company is vital. Stay the course captain!

Field repair for a generator exhaust. The factory weld was cracked so badly you could see daylight through it.
