This outbreak will not be contained within Africa without URGENT ‼️ increased investments in diagnostics capacity across DRC and the region. Rapid Diagnostics Tests are CRITICALLY needed in areas where access is restricted due to conflict & humanitarian crisis. @FINDdx
Two Ebola-related deaths have been confirmed in a displacement camp in eastern Congo, the U.N. refugee agency said, with aid workers warning the risk of the disease spreading quickly in crowded refugee sites was high and worrying. reuters.com/business/healthc…

Same. This morning the FOIA officer offered an *update* in two weeks. At least she didn't mention 'radical transparency.'

Trump's 1st term health officials convinced him to make ending HIV by 2030 a major piece of his legacy — telling him he'd be known as “the public health president.” He embraced the plan in 2019...then undermined it in his 2nd term. politico.com/news/magazine/2… @meganmesserly

Directly funding cost-sharing reductions (CSRs), as Republicans are apparently considering, would INCREASE out-of-pocket premiums for millions of #ACA marketplace enrollees, cut funding by tens of billions of $, and leave hundreds of thousands of ppl uninsured.

The finding that Medicaid work requirements could reduce poverty by 1.6 to 2.9 million people, rather than representing their likely impact, stems from an unwarranted assumption: If millions of beneficiaries newly obtain work, poverty would decline by a corresponding amount. | Forefront Richard G. Thx to @statnews for this piece. When I saw @SecKennedy admonish @SherylNYT, "All one needs to refute your argument is to glance at my publicly available calendar," I immediately wrote to @HHS_Spox to ask, where's the calendar? Crickets. statnews.com/2026/06/11/rfk-… via @statnews

The stakes are incredibly high for low-income families, grocery stores, schools, and the broader economy as states like Alabama now face massive new costs to continue SNAP under H.R. 1 — while other states get a temporary reprieve thanks to a special carveout in the law.
Alabama officials warn that the coming changes to SNAP cost-sharing requirements could lead to dire consequences in the state. #ALPolitics aldailynews.com/alabama-offi…

Between September 2024 and February 2026, the federal government lost approximately 118,000 employees working in scientific fields. The concern is not just the loss of jobs - the United States may be losing an entire generation of scientific capacity that took decades to build.

Ebola’s Warning Shot: The Bundibugyo Outbreak Is Moving Faster Than the World’s Response Here are 6 Updates: The geography should worry us. Contact tracing is improving but remains below the threshold needed for control. Health care workers are again among the first to pay the price. There are also survivor stories that should shape the public narrative. Vaccines are the great hope, but not the immediate rescue. CDC’s modeling is the starkest warning. Here's just one example of a family with two young kids who lost their SNAP benefits — or as Secretary Rollins would apparently describe it, "chose not to reapply." nbcnews.com/news/us-news/tru…

Rollins: No one was kicked off of SNAP. If they are not on SNAP, they have chosen not to reapply or they are an able bodied adult that can work.

Secretary Rollins tells the Senate Agriculture Committee that “no one wants kids to be hungry.” In just the 12 states with available data, the number of children receiving SNAP has fallen by more than 700,000 since the deepest SNAP cuts in history were enacted in H.R. 1.
