Happy to share a chapter of my PhD thesisπ£! We review the diversity of the cell envelope in Terrabacteria which tell us a lot about outer membrane biogenesis and the diderm-to-monoderm transition. Thanks to my co-authors Najwa Taib @ChrisBel70 @SGribaldonature.com/articles/s41579-0β¦
This is a very important paper suggesting that the Last Universal Common Ancestor of all living species lived 4.2 billion years ago. With Earth being only 4.5 billion years old, this suggests that life originated very soon after conditions were favorable.
