Final thought on the HALT Act:
The biggest issue is not drunk driving.
Drunk driving is already illegal and nobody serious is defending it.
The issue is whether Americans are okay with government-mandated tech in new vehicles that can monitor the driver and prevent or limit vehicle operation.
That is the line.
Delayed does not mean dead.
Not finalized does not mean fake.
And “for your safety” does not automatically mean “good for your freedom.”
