I've coached a long time, but it took me a long time to realise this. Players who understand WHY execute better than those who just copy. Don't just show the movement. Explain the mechanics. Connect it to game situations. Make it relevant to their position. Momement->Slice->Situation 360tft.com/p/why-so-many-you…

This is one of my favourite sessions. It can be used with any age or ability groups, as long as we know how to adapt and modify the size, challenges and expectations to suit. One that I shared with @TheS_Resource this week.

Coaches Are we creating the best environment possible, enabling the children we work with the best opportunity to develop? Do we focus on individual needs? Do we nurture? Do we support? Do we promote growth? Are we patient? Think like a Farmer @SundayShare10

Some information from the UEFA C to give additional context to your sessions. You may or may not consider these at the moment. Hopefully, it will be of help for some coaches. Let me know your thoughts.

After delivering 1000s of hours of academy football session. Co coached for 1000s of hours with elite coaches. Received 1000s of different feedback from talented players. There’s 13 keys I've learnt. *No.8 is critical* (but often forgotten).

BUILD FROM THE BACK - PART 1 9v6 Rondo using pitch geography. Reds play into the 9 for a point, but must combine with at least 1 CM. Blues win the ball and score past GK. - CM receive on half-turn - Create a wide diamond - Inverted FB, CM rotates out #SundayShare

This weekend there will be an army of kids on subs benches who always just get the last few mins of games, just remember they pay the same subs & have the same desire to play as everyone else. I know it's hard sometimes to be a coach but it's also hard to be that kid.

Great coaches cannot always see what great players see… They can look in the same direction. They can consider and mull what players are seeing…but they cannot always see the same things… And so incumbent on ambitious coaches is to incorporate player feedback into their list of important coach behaviours. It’s to give players the opportunity to express their opinion, to given them a platform to share their lens of the game, and to provide space to make suggestions and choices… …probably not all of the time…but probably some of the time. The craft is knowing when, to whom, and when not to…

You're reputation as a coach is super important. I got one of the biggest compliments the other day. It's well known, that I'm pretty easy, and even protective, of referees... especially young referees. We had a teenage referee in her first time working the center. After the match, the referee assignor came over and asked me how she did. I said, "She was great... Just need to build her confidence so her calls become more decisive and authorative" The assignor said she intentionally made me her first center because the respect level would be high. I consider that a compliment of the highest order

⚽️ COACHES! When setting challenges instead of asking for an instant answer, let the children you coach take it away, explore, and experiment. Give them the chance to try different approaches, make mistakes, and discover what works best for them.
