The pandemic has robbed me of my ability to work in coffeeshops. I'm doing my best to replicate the experience:
@coffitivity morning murmur track playing on my laptop while bluetooth JBL speaker plays @Spotify's "Your favorite coffeehouse" playlist.
Gonna be a long winter.
New work playlist, listen to music overlayed with @coffitivity, feel like you are in a café with headphones over playing your favourite songs, I just need a fancy coffee machine now...
I've been using @coffitivity for YEARS for my writing projects, and I'm so glad that it's still around during this huge #WorkFromHome thing. Makes me miss my coffee shop writing days a little less!
Related: Years ago our buddy's kid wouldn't go to sleep unless Coffitivity was on. We had to send him the audio as an MP4 to put on his iPod because we didn't have an app yet. Lol.
Anyone else wonder how many toddlers will start asking for @coffitivity as their preferred white noise after all this #WorkFromHome? I hear coloring productivity is up 20% 🤓
It is an app and website that mimics the sound of a busy cafe (and other public spaces) so I have background noise. It’s weird but I am not productive with dead silence. Pretending there is other people around helps me focus.
re: #WFH; A Thread
Just bc meetings are virtual w/o travel time doesn't mean slam em back-to-back.
*Meeting ends at 1:30? Schedule your next for 1:30.*
No. Let yourself (and your colleagues) breathe between convos. Don't burn yourself out. This is a marathon.
Do you know of @coffitivity? It's an app that plays ambient cafe sounds. I used to use it a lot. I hope it still exists - I have an old version of it on my phone.
#Didyouknow working to the background noise of your usual environment can increase productivity? Our communications Butterfly Emily in the UK uses @Coffitivity for coffee shop ambience to help her concentrate. #remoteworking
