The biggest issue with this tweet is him saying he’s not a “savior” for a franchise. If you go into a season expecting a rookie QB to be the messiah, you’ve already failed. Also, guys can still play as rookies, while not being asked to be tractors. Start out as the trailer. Grow.
This is my final thought on Drake Maye.
imo, he needs a version of the development path that Jordan Love got… and get this, there’s NOTHING wrong with that.
From what we’ve all seen on film, he’s not the guy that can overcompensate on a level like Josh Allen for things going wrong around him.
He also doesn’t have the athleticism of a guy like Jayden Daniels to help alleviate play calling behind a bad oline.
He’s not Superman. He’s not the savior for a franchise. And ALL OF THAT is okay. He can be a good QB in this league, he just needs a good situation and some time. (Which you don’t often get with a QB needy team in the Top 10)
