School’s back in session! 📷📷📷📷📷 Let's prioritize safety on our roads. Remember these important traffic rules in Newfoundland and Labrador:
- School Zones: Slow down and be extra cautious. Speeding fines are doubled in these areas.
- Yield to Pedestrians: Always yield to pedestrians, especially around crosswalks and school zones.
- Watch for cyclists! Some people ride their bicycle to work and school. You can only pass when it is safe to do so, with at least one metre of space. Some less experienced riders may stick to the sidewalk, so look out for them at corners and crosswalks.
- Watch for School Buses: Stop when a school bus's stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing.
These best practices are good for all hours of the day, not just during school hours! Give yourself plenty of time to get where you're going to avoid rushing and potential accidents.
Let's all work together to create a safe and enjoyable school year for everyone! #BackToSchool#RoadSafety#NLTraffic
