A truly great artist and a wonderful Yorkshireman has died. David Hockney told the Yorkshire Post in 2018 that teaching people to draw was teaching them to look. We need such careful looking in our world today and his vision taught generations to see the world afresh. David Hockney's legacy will live on. May he rest in peace and maybe paint the springtime of heaven.

We all have seasons in our lives when everything appears to be ‘on hold’. Our prayers might appear to be unanswered. Romans 15.13 encourages us to hold fast to the promises of God. Discover the #PilgrimPlaces, Holy Lives reflections at cofe.io/EverydayFaithApp.

Recently I visited Oldham Parish Church where pupils from Holy Cross Primary School Oldham and the Sing my Soul Choral Scholars showcased their talents. It was great to learn more about how a choral music project, Sing My Soul, is supporting the ministry of parishes across @diomanchester.

Wonderful to be with Chester Diocese for a day of pilgrimage and prayer. The day concluded with an evening celebration @ChesterCath where we celebrated the saints who have shaped us, and the transformation pilgrimage can bring.

This morning I met with civic leaders, visited St Peter’s Church at the Cross. I then walked with schoolchildren to @ChesterCath where Nick and Becky Drake from @songsforschool taught the group their new song ‘The Pilgrim Way’. A joyful start to my time in Chester.

Continuing my visit to Chester Diocese, I joined church leaders and congregation members at St Andrew’s Tarvin - many who are part of the Pilgrim Places network - to reflect on living as pilgrims in daily life and the role sacred spaces play in nurturing faith.
