Great news. There shouldn't be an NFA, but this is a good start.
ATF is proposing to allow individuals who make NFA firearms by altering existing firearms to use the original manufacturer’s markings instead of adding redundant ones. Since the original serial number and markings already meet statutory and regulatory requirements, this eliminates duplicative markings.
