It is no coincidence that you see all of Fin X filled with FUD about $AAOI They have agreed to push the price down to buy lower As we have already seen in several companies I love these moments they are a clear sign that you are riding on something of value Despite the FUD my long term conviction in the company remains intact Opening a clear window of opportunity to invest Driven by AI and optics Monthly revenues of $471M are projected by mid-2027 ($6,000M in FY28; 136% CAGR) A firmly bullish stance is maintained Taking advantage of market doubts to increase position very aggressively Currently 35% of my portfolio in $AAOI
Markets should be cheering on domestic champions like $AAOI. Since it's ideal to support critical AI infra from laser fab to production in the US, rather than being a bear. Feels like everyone just outsources transceivers to Asia like Malaysia or Thailand... With $INTC, $IQE, $XFAB, $MU, $WOLF, $SOI, $SIVE, and others... If you haven't noticed by now, they're all critical to US supply chains. And every one of them are getting subsidies for securing Western supply chains. Before a major trade was to short developing US/Western equities, then hedge with subsidized foreign ones. As seen with the energy/solar firms that went bankrupt, this backfired a lot on US AI infrastructure years later with the power grid. I wanted to help change this mindset, since I believe it's very positive sum to invest in building up critical Western supply chains like photonics today. Especially if $AAOI hits their $471m/month projections after reshoring their production to America. Instead of hoping they fail and calling critical nodes in the supply chains memestocks/bubbles, maybe it's good to change mindsets a bit so we don't see a repeat of the US Solar sector years later. US/EU don't just hand out subsidies or CHIPS act grants to anyone.

This is probably a fair, and simplified take on $AAOI today. Here's the situation: -> Mid-2027: $471M/month in revenue -> Fair to assume ~$6B in revenue in FY28. -> That's 136% CAGR in revenue from FY25 to FY28. Only companies nearing those numbers that I can see are $NBIS, $ASTS, $IREN, $AUR, $ONDS, $USAR, and $NN. $AAOI trades at 10x NTM sales which puts it the cheapest in that entire basket of stocks. Now let's assume $AAOI gets capacity constrained and we head more towards ~70% of management's estimates. That would be $329M/month in revenue -> $4B in FY28 revenue which still means you're looking at 100% CAGR for ~10x NTM sales. Tell me which stocks you have that for (on missed execution) for that sales multiple and then tell me over the next 3 years to be bearish on $AAOI ... Long $AAOI. Hoping we get pullbacks.
People keep saying $AAOI is cheap. I own $AAOI, but I think the market is already pricing in a meaningful amount of execution risk. If management delivers on what they're guiding for, then yes, the stock looks very cheap here at roughly 2–3x sales. But that's the key word: if. If ramp get delayed, or expectations prove too optimistic, I could easily see the stock experiencing a 30–40% drawdown from current levels. That's the trade-off. High upside if they execute and notable downside if they don't. Overall, I'm still very bullish. The AI and optics tailwinds are real, demand continues to grow, and the company is operating in the right place at the right time. Just don't mistake "cheap" for "risk-free."
