I had a argument with my brother about why this is better than SAO it goes into the community aspect of MMOS, that whole episode where they are trying raid and you got this character that explains their point of view of what it means to be a raider is so relatable to especially me being new to that aspect of mmos, and that moment will never be topped in the series for me. SAO is only good for shounen fights and Aura Moments but Log Horizon's Strength is it's literature, world building and Expositon, the whole point of Log Horizon is that it's a gaming community waking up in a world they are more familiar on a mouse and keyboard and trying to adapt and survive in it and come together as a community.
