The @MUSCSurgery Residency Program recently celebrated the grand opening of its Surgical Simulation Center. Dr. @DJCSurgEd, Director of Surgical Simulation, led the development of this innovative center. Congratulations to the program on the creation of this training facility!

Dr. Mackey was a great mentor to both @MWestfalMDMPH and I as @TuftsMedSchool students interested in surgery. He spent countless hours working with and supporting us as students and throughout our training. Our thoughts are with his family and the @TuftsMedicalCtr community.

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. Bill Mackey has died at the age of 72. A longtime vascular surgeon, teacher and leader, Dr. Mackey spent his entire career at Tufts Medical Center spanning nearly 40 years. He served as surgeon-in-chief and on our Board of Trustees.
