We are deeply saddened to share the passing of legendary R&B/Neo-Soul singer Angie Stone at the age of 63. 🙏🏾🕊️
A true icon, Angie not only captivated us with her powerful voice but also reshaped the landscape of modern R&B.
Her solo career gave us timeless hits like “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” and “Brotha,” the latter being a heartfelt tribute to Black men, uplifting and celebrating their strength and resilience. Angie also co-wrote groundbreaking tracks with her one-time romantic partner D’Angelo, including classics on Voodoo (“Playa, Playa,” “Send It On,” “Spanish Joint”) and Brown Sugar (“Jonz in My Bonz”).
As a member of The Sequence, she contributed to the foundational hip-hop track "Funk You Up," sampled by artists from Dr. Dre to Erykah Badu. Angie’s influence transcended genres, leaving an indelible mark on music and culture.
Her legacy lives on in the songs that continue to inspire and uplift. Rest in peace, Angie Stone.
